I have been a walker, climber and mountaineer for many years. I have climbed across the UK from Cornwall to Scotland, trips to the Alps and a go at Mt Kenya when I worked in Uganda. But I am still enchanted by the Malvern Hills.
I did a degree in Mathematics and then went into programming computers, and learnt a lot about accountancy.
When I retired I joined the Conservation Volunteers, a wonderful group that tackles some amazing venues on the Hills. Obviously the field staff tackle the big jobs - cutting grass/hay maintaining footpaths etc. The volunteers are able to tackle the smaller and more delicate tasks of maintaining areas with specific conservation needs.
I was first elected in 2007 and have always endeavored to attend all committee meetings to get full understanding of the concerns of the organisation.
